Ben is extremely good about hiding presents and not opening gifts until the designated time. I am lacking in this department: Two years ago, I went looking for my presents, found them, refrained from peeking, and then bragged about my restraint to Ben. For some reason he seemed unimpressed.
This afternoon Ben totally surprised me with this vintage Paul Klee silkscreen. We first spotted this months ago -- and he remembered. The print formerly resided in the Macy's building in downtown Cincinnati, until it got liquidated along with a lot of other stuff. It looks great above our couch.
Here is a detail. A nice jumbled up townscape. I like how it looks like an illustration out of a surrealist children's book.
And here's Ben in his new Penguin sweater. Doesn't he look handsome! [Ben wrote that.]
Speaking of children's books, I found the 1956 French version of "Le Ballon Rouge." I saw this movie so many times when I was little. Ben mentioned he had never seen it, so now he can experience the next best thing.
Pascal's sweatpants obviously give him freedom of movement. Run, petit garcon, run!
And finally, this little lovely trinket:
Happy holidays everyone! See you soon!
